Leslie Studer continues to serve as Co-Director of Piedmont Progressive Preschool for the 2025–2026 school year, bringing steady leadership and heartfelt dedication to our community. This year, she will be teaching in our Three and Four-Year-Old classroom, where her nurturing presence and thoughtful guidance help children thrive. With over six years at PPP, Leslie is deeply committed to our nature-based, child-centered philosophy. Her passion for inspiring curiosity and independence continues to enrich both the classroom experience and the broader school community.
Maloree Shockley
Co-Director
Maloree Shockley returns for the 2025–2026 school year as Co-Director of Piedmont Progressive Preschool, bringing steady leadership, vision, and heartfelt dedication to our community. A former classroom teacher with three years of experience in our classrooms, Maloree combines her deep understanding of early childhood development with a personal connection to the school—as a parent of a PPP alumnus and longtime team member. Her commitment to fostering growth, connection, and a play-based, child-centered environment continues to guide our educators and enrich the experiences of every child at Piedmont Progressive Preschool.


Daniela Hufnagl
Four and Five-Year-Old Teacher
With a decade of experience in early childhood education, Daniela Hufnagl brings both heart and expertise to her role as lead teacher in our Four and Five-Year-Old classroom. We are thrilled to welcome her back to Piedmont Progressive Preschool for the 2025–2026 school year. Dani holds an Early Childhood Development certificate and has a deep love for the outdoors—qualities that align beautifully with our nature-based, child-centered philosophy. Her thoughtful presence, creativity, and commitment to nurturing each child’s growth make her an invaluable part of our vibrant PPP community.
Crystal Jenkins
Three and Four-Year-Old Teacher
Crystal Jenkins has a special bond with Piedmont Progressive Preschool as a parent of alumni who have flourished in our unique educational setting. Inspired by our nature-based model, she joined our team to teach Three and Four-Year-Olds. Crystal’s dedication to nurturing young learners and her personal experience with our philosophy enrich her classroom, creating a welcoming and engaging space for every child. Four and Five-Year-Old Teacher
Yvonne Baker, a parent of two alumni from Piedmont Progressive Preschool, brings heartfelt dedication to her role as a teacher in our Four and Five-Year-Old class. Her genuine love for educating young children, combined with her personal experience within our nurturing environment, makes her an invaluable asset to our team. Katie Nguyen
Two and Three-Year-Old Teacher
Katie Nguyen brings a deep-rooted connection to Piedmont Progressive Preschool as a dedicated parent and former volunteer, having served as both Garden Chair and Secretary of our Parent Council. Her grounded presence and passion for hands-on, nature-based learning will be a true asset in our Two and Three-Year-Old classroom. Building on her experience in the garden, Katie has thoughtfully developed a vibrant garden program that enriches our curriculum and nurtures children’s curiosity about the natural world. Denise Stephenson
Two and Three-Year-Old Teacher
Denise Stephenson joins Piedmont Progressive Preschool as a former kindergarten teacher, bringing over 30 years of experience in a public school setting. Her depth of knowledge, steady presence, and thoughtful approach to early childhood education make her a valuable asset in our Two and Three-Year-Old classroom.
